Theater 8 p.m., LTOB

 “Damn Yankees!,” Little Theatre on the Bay’s mid-winter musical will be performed Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. There will be three Sunday matinees at 2 p.m., including the closing performance, March 2.  

The musical tells the story of Washington fan Joe Hardy, who sells his soul to the devil at a time when the New York Yankees dominated baseball. Featured songs include “Heart,” “Whatever Lola Wants” and “The Good Old Days.”

Advanced purchase discounts are available for seniors, students and children. All seats will cost $12 when purchased at the time of each show. The box office will also be open one hour prior to each performance for sales of remaining tickets. Members and holders of season ticket coupons may exchange their coupons for show tickets at any time.

LTOB is located at 2100 Sherman Ave. The box office will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., and one hour before each show.

Concert

6:30 p.m., Rogers Zoo

The All Girl Impromptu Pick Up Band will play at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Rogers Zoo, 2037 Sheridan Ave., in North Bend.

The  band, known as TAGIPUB, plays a variety of hard-driving Celtic jigs and reels, European and American folk tunes, and features fiddles, mandolin, concertina, hammered dulcimer, guitar, bass and autoharp and sometimes the accordion, penny whistle and harmonica. There is no cover charge.

Dancing

7 p.m., Lighthouse School

Put on your dancing shoes.

Adults are invited to dance the night away at the fourth-annual Lighthouse School Fundraiser “Disco Inferno — Burn, Baby, Burn” on Saturday, Feb. 23, in North Bend.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Sawmill convention center, next to the Autumn House restaurant, 3491 Broadway St., North Bend. There will be dinner and then dancing to the tunes by D.J. Troy Woody. Silent and live auctions will feature items such as a night at McMenamin’s Hotel Oregon in McMinnville, and gift certificates to Honda World, Tower Ford and Art Connection, along with Southwestern Community College Recreation Center passes.

Funkadelic disco attire is encouraged. Tickets can be purchased for $45 each via the Lighthouse School, 93670 Viking Lane; or Books By The Bay, 1875 Sherman Ave., North Bend.

Poker

6 p.m., NB Community Center

Coos Elderly Services will hold a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament and Casino Night event from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the North Bend Community Center, on Broadway Street. 

Casino admission will cost $25, which includes $20 scrip, entertainment and snacks. Buy-in for the Texas hold ‘em tourney will be $50, which includes casino entry, $3,000 in chips and $20 funny money. Additional buy-ins will be available at the event.
