The following are meetings and events planned this weekend on the South Coast.
Saturday
Vintage Haulers, a club for vehicle enthusiasts, meets the third Saturday of each month are various members home. For details and a meeting time, those interested can call Joe Bradley at 260-1940.
The Langlois Public Library Annual Book Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Langlois Lions Hall just south of town on Floras Lake Loop.
The Cedar Valley-North Bank Rural Fire Department Fish Fry will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Docia Sweet Hall, at the Event Center on the Beach, 29392 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach.
A class on body awareness will meet from 11 a.m. to noon at the First Presbyterian Church, 438 Elrod Ave., in Coos Bay. Easy stretching, yoga postures, qi gung and tai chi will be incorporated into a smooth, gentle program focusing on balance, breathing and posture.
Confluence 2008: The wine, beer, seafood and music festival will be held from noon to 8 p.m. in Gardiner at the former W. F. Jewett School. Tickets are $7. There will be free bus shuttle service available from the Winchester Bay RV Resort and Bay Front Loop. In Reedsport, the bus stops at Circle Drive and Price ’N’ Pride. In Gardiner, the bus runs from the old IP sawmill parking lot. There will be free parking at the event.
No Lazy Kates will meet to spin wool at 1 p.m. at the Wool Company, 990 U.S. Highway 101, Bandon. Visitors are welcome.
The Oregon Old Time Fiddlers will play from 1 to 4 p.m. at the firehall building in Winchester Bay (formerly the Grange). The public is invited to an afternoon of music and dancing.
Bingo is back in Lakeside. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Lakeside Lions Hall, 890 Bowron Road.
The Coos County Beekeepers Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Oregon State University Extension office, 631 Alder St., in Myrtle Point.
The historic Egyptian Theatre in downtown Coos Bay will feature “2 Fast 2 Furious” (2003) at 7 p.m. The box office opens one hour before showtime. Admission is $4, $3.50 for seniors and those 12 and under and $3 for members.
Sunday
The Oregon Southwest Chapter of Veterans For Peace will show the award-winning documentary “No End in Sight: Iraq’s Descent into Chaos” at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bandon Public Library. Admission is free.
Confluence 2008 continues from noon to 6 p.m. in Gardiner at the former W. F. Jewett School.
