Do what you can to help the horses

Thursday, February 14, 2008 |
It tore me apart to read the article about the horse abuse case (The World, Jan. 17). I, too, rescued a horse that was not as bad as this one, but close.
People should be encouraged to do what’s right and not close their eyes to bad situations.
The rewards will be great for both them and the animals. My rescued horse truly loves me and I love her. I promised her she would never starve again! (She had been starving for three years.)
Also, I have been told there are laws that horses need and are required to have shelter). The one in the article had rain rot from no shelter. Mine did, too. Coos County Animal Shelter says no? I have been told Coos County Animal Shelter is the worst as far as horses go. I don’t know. I just see that his horse suffered for two years and two others died. Mine suffered for three years. That is a long time. Can we go for this long without care?
Please do what you can to help the horses in Coos County!
Thank you very much. I love horses so much, they are majestic animals.
