Tuesday, February 12, 2008 12:48 PM PST

The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce, building on hugely successful Confluence festival last year, is gearing up for Confluence 2008 — set for Saturday and Sunday in Gardiner, at the old W.F. Jewett School.

Volunteers 21 and older are needed for the help at the event. Only a few hours of time are asked to be donated and volunteers get the added benefit of listening to some of the best music on the South Coast.

Music on Saturday includes Locust Street Taxi, Kevin Selfe and the Tornados, The Essentials and the rose City Kings. Sunday’s lineup includes Sweet City Slang, PBA & the Hot Flashes, Deb Cleveland and Paul Biondi and Friends. Solo acts in the Rogue Room include BeBe Bardot, Lynda Cole and cooking demonstrations by Three Rivers Casino Executive Chef Brad Reynolds. Paul Biondi and BeBe Bardot will be the masters of ceremony.

Wineries and breweries participating in the festival include Rogue Brewery, Wakonda Brewery, Pelican Pub & Brewery, River’s Edge Winery, Henry Estate Winery, Wild Rose Vineyard, Saginaw Vineyard, Bradley Vineyards, MarshAnne Landing, Old Coyote Winery and LaVelle Vineyards.

Food vendors will feature Oregon seafood and there also will be an array of craft vendors.

Free shuttle bus service will be available at the Winchester Bay RV Resort and Bay Front Loop in Winchester Bay; at Circle Drive and Price ‘n’ Pride in Reedsport; and at the former International Paper mill site in Gardiner.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door and are available at Umpqua Bank, Bank of America and the Chamber of Commerce.

To volunteer, those interested can call event chairwoman Karen Bedard at 662-0542.
