Helo crew saves surfer

U.S. Coast Guard crews from North Bend rescued a surfer Sunday near Depot Bay.
According to a Coast Guard press release, at about 1:41 p.m., Lincoln County dispatchers contacted the Coast Guard, requesting their assistance in rescuing a stranded surfer near Devil’s Punch Bowl State Park.
A Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station North Bend responded and, at about 2:05 p.m., hoisted the surfer to safety. He was uninjured, the press release said.
Arrest
A North Bend man was arrested Saturday following a fight in Coos Bay.
According to a Coos Bay Police Department press log, at about 1:38 a.m., officers were called to a fight at Mak’s Old City Hall Lounge, 375 Central Ave.
After an investigation, officers arrested Michael D. Delacy, 32, of North Bend, on charges of second-degree criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
He was taken to Coos County jail, where he was released on his own recognizance. |
