Community Concerts hosts Jeni Fleming Acoustic Trio
With a voice described as powerful and honest, Jeni Fleming is capable of effortlessly delivering complex classical and modern jazz dichotomies in one breath or breezy folk tunes in another, so say concert promoters. The Coos County Community Concert Association presents The Jeni Fleming Acoustic Trio at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, in the Marshfield High School auditorium.
Season tickets for the concert series are available at $55 for adults and $35 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the office of Mike Gordon at 290 S. Fourth Street, Coos Bay; or by calling 269-1272. A limited number of tickets for individual concerts may be available at the door. All shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:50 p.m.
The trio also includes Jake Fleming on guitar and saxophone, and Chad Langford on bass. Each is an accomplished musician, both Jake Fleming and Langford add depth to the music while perfectly and intuitively knowing exactly how and when to enhance Jeni’s soulful sound, a press release said. They may perform folksy acoustic renditions of Jerry Jeff Walker or rock out with a pop cover from Cyndi Lauper, but in the end, the jazz comes out in every tune.
Other concerts in the 2007-08 line-up include the unique combinations of 21st-century vibrancy with the very best of European traditions by The Poulenc Trio; and a return engagement by theatrical vocalist, Franc D’Ambrosio.
The Community Concert Association is committed to cultivating appreciation of the performing arts by bringing world-class performers of various musical and entertainment genres to the community. More information about the concert series is available at http://www.cccca.com or by calling Gordon at 269-1272. |
