Zonta hosts celebrity dinner this weekend

Tuesday, February 05, 2008 |
Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area presents its 10th-annual Celebrity Dinner Dance and auction as a club fundraiser on Saturday at the North Bend Community Center.
Funds raised by the group support the club’s Little Red Schoolhouse project to provide school supplies to children of Coos County, academic scholarships to women, SMART, Bay Area First Step and other projects focused on women and children. During the current club year, the Zonta Service Foundation distributed more than $30,000 to these local programs.
Dinner will be served by 36 volunteer Celebrity Servers. These “celebrities” were selected by Zonta members for their positive contributions to our community. The social hour starts at 6 p.m. with dinner, catered by The Coach House, at 7. After dinner, The Flashbacks will perform live. Also, a silent auction will be held throughout the evening.
Tickets for the event are $50 per person and can be purchased by calling Judy McMakin at 347-9194. For additional information, those interested can call any Zonta member or call 888-4386.
