“I’m a Professional, but ...” is a workshop that works toward improving professionalism in the workplace.

The workshop, featuring presenter Howard Baker Jr., will take place on Feb. 13 at the Red Lion, North Umpqua Room, 1313 N. Bayshore Drive, Coos Bay.

Attendees can expect to learn how to polish their professional images in an activity-based workshop, to include the following subjects:

* Accepting responsibility for errors with grace and style;

* attitude — customers, coworkers and management;

* body language slip-ups;

* handling issues at the lowest level before climbing the ladder of command;

* trusting coworkers again after the trust was betrayed;

* how to keep the smile on your face when managing the stresses of the day;

* keeping humor and fun in the workplace.

Check-in and continental breakfast will be from 7:30 to 8 a.m., with the seminar from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $49 for the first person from each company, and $44 for each additional person from the same company. Those interested must register by Wednesday, Feb. 6, by calling 756-8459.

The workshop is being presented by the South Coast Employer Council, Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Brookings-Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Business Development Center and the Southwestern Oregon Community College.
