The following are events and meeting scheduled Wednesday in North Bend and Coos Bay.

TOPS No. 1135 will hold a weight-loss support meeting from 9:45 to 11 a.m. at Madison Street Community Church, 417 Madison St. in Coos Bay. For more information, those interested can call Bonnie at 266-9525.  

The Coos Bay Kiwanis Club meets at noon at the Red Lion Hotel, 1313 N. Bayshore Drive, in Coos Bay, and features a new program every week. For more information, those interested can call Howard Forte at 888-5498 or 267-3121.

Bridge players will gather at 12:30 p.m.  at the North Bend Senior Center, 1470 Airport Lane. For more information, those interested can call 756-7622.

A senior citizen dance will be held at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Court, on the campus of Baycrest Village, located at 451 O’Connell in North Bend. Admission is free and the public can attend. For more information, those interested can call 756-4466.

North Bend Public  Library’s Video Voyages film of the month will “Cruise Hawaii & Tahiti” at 2 p.m. at the library, 1800 Sherman Ave.

Stops will include Hawaii, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu, Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahiti. The free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. For more information, those interested can call 756-0400.

Free counseling for combat veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and a specialized group for World War II and Korean Conflict veterans will be held at 2 p.m. For more information, those interested can call the Eugene Vet Center’s Coos County contracted counselor, Susan Aviotti, LPC, at 756-7748.

The Coos and Curry Chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Tymberhavene, will hold a meeting from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. at the Education Service District building, 1350 Teakwood Ave., Coos Bay.  The society is a nonprofit group that re-enacts the Renaissance and Middle Ages time period pre-1601 A.D. The South Coast Chapter of Oregon Equestrian Trails will meet at 7 p.m.   in Gussie’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay. There will be an optional dinner at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Mike Smith, who will discuss plans for a new trail system. .

An AL-ANON support group will meet at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Coos Bay, 123 Ocean Blvd.

Photographs by Carol L. Young are on exhibit at the Coos Bay Public Library, 525 W. Anderson Ave. Young is focusing on watercolor painting and on creating art cards and photographs from her paintings.

The works of artist William Allen Selden are on display in the conference room at the North Bend Public Library, 1800 Sherman Ave. Selden specializes in realistic landscapes and ocean scenes sold through a variety of galleries and also accepts commissions for a wide variety of illustrative projects.

The Bay Area Artists Association Regional Juried Exhibition is on display through Feb. 16 at the Coos Art Museum,  235 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay. The exhibition features paintings, photography, sculpture and other three dimensional works. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
