Friday, January 25, 2008 |
An accident on state Highway 42 Thursday morning caused several thousand dollars’ worth of damage to two cars.
According to an Oregon State Police press release, at about 8:30 a.m., troopers arrived on the scene of a two-car accident on the highway near milemarker 9.
After an investigation, troopers determined that Darlene L. Spencer, 70, of Yuma, Ariz., driving a 2006 Chevy, model unknown, was eastbound on the highway and stopped behind a car waiting to make a left turn.
Heather L. Thoeny, 41, of Coos Bay, driving a 1998 Toyota Rav4, struck the rear of Spencer’s car. Damage to both cars was estimated at over $1,500.
No injuries were reported and no citations were issued. However, Thoeny was warned for following too close, OSP said.
