The Waterfront Players Artistic Director Judy McDonald is teaching a Live Theater Workshop for adults and students.

The workshop is scheduled on two Saturdays. It starts this weekend and continues Feb. 2, in the conference room of the Bandon Public Library. The class runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

There still is space in the class geared to directors and producers, as well as actors. Actors of all levels of experience should find the class useful.

Topics for the class include a look at theater history; the various roles of the actor, director and producer; script reading; theater etiquette; coaching techniques; casting pitfalls; styles of direction; voice production; movement; speech and diction; theater games, and a lot of other miscellaneous tidbits learned over a lifetime in theater.  Participants will have the opportunity to request specific topics on their registration forms.

This is a jam-packed, fast-moving workshop. Participants should come wearing comfortable clothing, and bring a sack lunch for the half-hour break.

The registration fee is $45 per person for the two-day class and includes materials. A minimum of 10 attendees is required, with a maximum of 18.  Registration forms can be obtained by e-mailing McDonald at wprc@uci.net or by calling her at 756-2900.
