For those of you looking for laughs to lighten up the winter, get ready to chuckle. Comedian Bill Cosby will perform at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Silva Hall, in the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, on Seventh and Willamette in Eugene.

Bill Cosby’s humor centers around everday family life. He has been compared to comedic legends such as Will Rogers, Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields and Groucho Marx.

Most people probably remember Cosby’s iconic character — Dr. Cliff Huxtable on the 1980s sitcom “The Cosby Show.” He was named No. 1 in TV Guide’s list of 50 greatest dads. Cosby also created the characters Fat Albert and Little Bill.

His work has earned him honors including being the first black performer to win an Emmy, for “I Spy” (1965), an inductee into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame and an honoree at the Kennedy Center Honors in 1998.  He also has been a well-known performer for many years, breaking the Radio City Music Hall’s 53-year-old attendance record in 1986.

The performance is presented by Broadway In Eugene.

Tickets range in price from $40 to $52 and are subject to ordering fees. They are available by calling the Hult Center Ticket Office at (541) 682-5000, stopping by the box office on Seventh and Willamette in Eugene or visiting http://www.hultcenter.org. The box office is open noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
