Her style is described as exploring a different genre of musical inspiration in each painting.
The works of South Coast artist Jessica Elam are on display at Evergreen Court in North Bend.
Elam was born and raised in Portland. From the time she was old enough to pick up a crayon, she loved to paint and draw, a press release said. Both her grandfather and great-grandmother were talented artists, and she followed in their footsteps of artistic expression, while creating a distinct style of brightly colored paintings. Her pieces include a range of styles from textured pointillism, to floral depictions, nature and landscapes. Elam enjoys experimenting with different textures and light effects in her acrylics.
The show at Evergreen Court, 451 O’Connell St., runs through March 16.

Isn't she amazing? The artist, that is. A self-taught wonder. Beautiful art - beautiful person. Am so anxious to see this most recent showing for the displays at the gallery last year were awesome. Plaudits to you, Jessica.
What a wonder of wonders~
This lovely painting is filled with the warming of the sun and water. The joy and loveliness of the woman who is absorbing its comforting restfulness and beauty bursts from the greatness of this piece of art.
