Martin Luther King celebration today

The Egyptian Theatre is hosting a Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. starting at 5:30 p.m. today in downtown Coos Bay.

 The event is sponsored by the Human Rights Advocates of Coos County and is free to all.

The celebration will include a presentation of the Annual Human Dignity Award, African drumming and short films. A candlelight vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Coos Bay Boardwalk. Lynda Cole will provide music and the Rev. John Lloyd will speak.

Artwork from area children will be on display at the theater and at the Pony Village Mall on Virginia Avenue in North Bend.
