A Coos Bay man was arrested Friday after his vehicle collided with another on Libby Lane.
According to a Coos County Sheriff’s Office press release, at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies, Charleston Fire Protection District firefighters, emergency medical personnel and Coquille Tribal Police responded to a report of a head-on crash near milepost 3 on Libby Lane. According to the release, a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Robert O’Neill, 39, left the westbound lane and crashed with an eastbound 2003 Dodge, driven by Naomi Hockema, 34, of Charleston. Her husband and child were passengers in the car, the release said, but their names were unavailable. The Hockemas sustained minor injuries in the crash and O’Neill was arrested on charges of reckless driving, three counts of reckless endangering and driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was transported to the Coos County jail, where he was cited and released.
