Boys & Girls Club hosting arts exhibit

The Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon is hosting an annual Fine Arts Exhibit at the club, 3333 Walnut Ave, in Coos Bay, through January.
The exhibit is the local competition for Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Fine Arts program. George Hess of the Mindpower Gallery and Jane Snoddy of Easy Lane Frames and were the judges.
The artwork selected from this exhibit will move on to the regional competition at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach in Laguna Beach, Calif. Winners at the regional level will advance to the National Fine Arts Exhibit at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Conference in San Francisco.
Local winners are Carly Anderson, Sadie Beaver, Amanda Lea, John Murphy, McKenzie Seggerman, Tori Hall, Anna Poczo, Morgan Halbert, Breanna Reasor and Adam Urban.
The National Fine Arts Exhibit program promotes young people’s creativity and encourages artistic skills and cultural achievement. The Boys and Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon offers painting, drawing, sculpting, art history and crafts to all of its members each day of the week.
The exhibit is open from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
