HILLSBORO (AP) — Matt Roloff, star of the television series “Little People, Big World,” was found not guilty of drunk driving.

Jurors got the case Wednesday and deliberated for three hours before heading home. When they returned Thursday, they asked questions that led Washington County Judge Donald Letourneau to suspect they had violated his directions by looking up legal terms on the Internet.

Letourneau met with prosecutors and Roloff’s attorneys. Roloff waived his right to a jury trial and petitioned the judge for a directed verdict.

Letourneau acquitted Roloff, 46, on the drunken-driving charge. Roloff was convicted of two minor offenses from the June 19 traffic stop and fined $742.

“I’m just anxious to get back and spend time with my family,” Roloff told The Oregonian newspaper following the verdict.

The Learning Channel program showcases Matt and Amy Roloff and their son, Zach, who are little people, and their other three children, who are average size. The family lives on a farm west of Portland.
