Hawk's View wins two awards

Tuesday, January 08, 2008 |
Local wineries keep adding to their impressive medal haul as Hawk’s View earned two honors at the prestigious Best of the Best in the Great Northwest competition.
Wine Press Northwest has put on the competition every year for the past eight years, inviting winners of previous contests to compete.
Hawk’s View and owner Terry Luce garnered a double gold for their cranberry wine and a gold for their blackberry wine.
“We are very happy,” Luce said Monday. “(The competition) was by invitation only.”
Wine Press wrote in its summary: “If you don’t think fruit wines can be serious, then take a long look — and taste — of this cranberry wine from the southern Oregon coast.”
The contest included 258 wines that had previously won top honors at 30 competitions.
