SaturdayA class on body awareness will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at the First Presbyterian Church, 438 Elrod, in Coos Bay. Easy stretching, yoga postures, qi gung and tai chi will be incorporated into a smooth, gentle program focusing on balance, breathing and posture. The historic Egyptian Theatre in downtown Coos Bay will show “The Incredible Mr. Limpet” (1964) at 7 p.m. The movie features the late Don Knotts who wants nothing more than to be a fish — a talking fish at that! Tickets cost $4 for general admission, $3.50 for seniors and children age 12 younger, and $3 for members.
The Saints ‘n’ Aints square and round dancing club will hold its first dance of 2008 on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the United Methodist Church, 123 Ocean Blvd., Coos Bay. Dancing will begin at 7 p.m., with pre-rounds cued by Donna Hiserote. Square dancing will begin at 7:30, to veteran caller Sherm Welch.

A dance will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Bandon Grange Farwest Hall on state Highway 42 South in Bandon. A lesson will be held at 7:30 p.m. and the dance will start at 8. Those attending can wear casual clothing, and singles and couples are welcome. No smoking or alcohol is allowed. There is no charge but donations will be accepted to support grange activities.
SundayAn All-You-Can-Eat Sunday Breakfast will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Masonic Center, 2002 Union Ave., North Bend. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, as well as blueberry and regular pancakes, sausage, ham, scrambled eggs, cereal, orange juice and coffee. The meal will cost $6 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 12 and children younger than 5 eat for free.
Unity of Bandon will celebrate the arrival of the New Year with a “White Stone Service” at 11 a.m. at the church, one mile south of 11th Street on U.S. Highway 101. For more information, those interested can call 347-4696.
