Coquille celebrates holiday

The Coquille Chamber of Commerce will host “Christmas in Coquille” at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at the Coquille Community Building’s Large Auditorium, 115 N. Birch.
The event is a free musical program for the families of Coquille and the surrounding communities.
Local performers will include the Coquille Jazz Band, Coquille Valley Hospital’s singing group the “Arrythmias,” the South Coast Women’s Trio, Elvis Presley Impersonator & Group, and 4-H Leaders and Junior Leaders will help the younger ones with some crafts in the small auditorium. Other activities will include face painting, and Santa will stop by to visit the children and take free pictures. Refreshments will include homemade cookies and other treats, hot cider or coffee.
Also, the Coquille Merchants Association will have a raffle drawing at the Christmas program. Those interested can visit these merchants now until Friday for details: Grandma’s Smiles & Memories, Truffles, Country Brides & City Ladies, The Oddity Shop, PC Gameland, Farr’s True Value, Something Special, Bree’s Upscale Resale, Apple Blossom Antiques & Collectibles. No purchase necessary is necessary to participate.
First prize will be $100 cash from the Coquille Merchants Association; second will be a $50 gift certificate from Truffles, and third will be a gift basket from Bree’s Upscale Resale.
