Helping Santa in Lakeside

The Lakeside Lions will be brightening the holiday for many families.

The club received more than $1,200 in donations to buy toys for Lakeside-area children and spent the morning Friday buying items. All the goodies will be handed out at a Santa Social at 6 p.m. on Friday, at the Lions club in Lakeside.

"So many kids will be so happy!" Lions President Madeline Gonsalves said with a big smile.

Free hot dogs and desserts will be available with a musical program presented by after-school children from Kid Zone and staff, with special music by Friends of the Lions. Santa will arrive on a Lakeside fire truck with lots of toys for girls and boys. The Lions also will hand out toys and food baskets on Saturday.

For more information, or to suggest someone who may be in need of a food basket, those interested can call Madeline Gonsalves at 759-2374.
