Silly songsters and tale spinners
Tuesday, December 11, 2007 11:43 AM PST

South Coast storytellers and musicians will spin tales and whip up tunes in the Coos Bay Public Library’s annual festive holiday program.

This free 45-minute program will include stories, songs, crafts and treats at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, in the Myrtlewood meeting room at the library.

Theresa Erskine and Jim Thornton will present special seasonal tales that librarians say are sure to delight the whole family. Members of The Young Bucs musical group — Les Engle, Brian Hampton, Kevin Freeman and Floyd Montiel — will lead the audience in singing holiday favorites, such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Frosty the Snowman.

The library wishes to thank all of the guest performers for their time, enthusiasm and willingness to participate in this children’s program. All ages are welcome to attend and sing, listen, laugh and have fun. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Coos Bay Public Library. For more information, those interested can visit the library at 525 W. Anderson Ave., or call 269-1101.
