Come rain or stars, Artwalk!, a self-directed tour of art displays and culture in historic North Bend and Coos Bay, is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Participants in the monthly event can start at any of the locations listed below and all locations will provide maps.

Coos Bay

• Blackwell’s & Co. Hair Design: 153 N. Broadway, will feature the art of Carol Young.

• Coos Art Museum: 235 Anderson Ave., will feature the 2007 Bay Area Artists Association Regional Juried Exhibition, which features 57 artists. It will run through Feb. 16.

• The Pottery Company: 145 Anderson Ave., owner Jan Tucker will demonstrate the building of art objects with clay. Refreshments will be served.

North Bend

• Classical Glass Stained Glass Studio: 2269 Broadway St., new to Artwalk!, the studio will host a Holiday Open House that features the work of artists Susan Scott and Richard Hopkins of Palouse Creek Pottery and glass artist Lucy Varooujean. There will be a selection of fine art, with new items added throughout the holiday season. Refreshments will be served in celebration of the holidays.

• Colette’s Crepes: At a new location in the Broadway Plaza on the corner of Newmark and Broadway streets. The restaurant will feature all new art.

• Coos Head Food Store: 1960 Sherman Ave., will feature “Possibilities with Pomegranates.” There will be samples of pom ouinoa tabouli and yam pomegranate bake, as well as healthy entertaining recipes for dips, a holiday relish tray and a hot lemon/ginger toddy. Margaret Ann will feature wines and other beverages perfect for holiday parties and gift giving, a press release said.

• Crystal Dolphin Gallery: 1901 Sherman Ave., will have a “hot glass” artist from Florence, Jason Trebolo, who will demonstrate how to make marbles and other items. Jason is well known for his “Vortex” and “Galaxy” marbles and dichroic glass pendants. Also available will be Crystal Dolphin’s “Stuff Your Own Mushrooms” with a new variety of “Christmas stuffings.”

• Easy Lane Frames & Select Art Gallery: 3440 Broadway St., “Whimsical Whiskers — A Visual Collection of Feline Companions,” by Bandon photographer Lynda Ann Fost will be on display through Jan. 8.

The exhibit, which celebrates the life of the everyday cat, will showcase Fost’s first attempt with animal photography. All proceeds from the show will go to the care and adoption of cats at the Coos County Animal Shelter.

“I wanted to do this to draw attention to the shelter cat’s plight,” Fost said. “It seems dogs get a lot of attention, but the stray cat population is so much higher.”

Fost is a self-taught artist. The exhibit will feature 24 matted and framed photographs of cats, ranging in price from $22 to $48.

• Epiphany & Co.: 1989 Sherman Ave. Opening this month is Epiphany & Co. in the Historic Odd Fellows Building in downtown North Bend. The business will be open for Artwalk from 4 to 8 p.m. Epiphany & Co. is a unique art gallery and gift shop featuring original artwork, unique gifts, jewelry and divine style.

• The Framery: 1774 Union Ave., will have special Christmas refreshments and will be showing a new concept in choosing a frame for works of art.

• North Bend Public Library: 1800 Sherman Ave., Mike Holm’s photographs are on display through Dec. 30. Holm’s photographs cover a wide range of subject matter, from architecture, cars and boats, to portraiture.

He will be at a reception for his show during ArtWalk.

The photographer received his first camera, an Ansco Cadet, in 1960, for Christmas. While serving in Vietnam, Holm purchased a Minolta SRT101 while on leave in Hong Kong. After his service in the U.S. Navy, he attended the University of Santa Cruz in California, and received a degree in art and photography.

Photography has played a major role in his life, and it continues now that he’s retired and living in the Bay Area.

His show at the library features examples of his work from the 1970s to the present. His explorations with digital cameras shows a superb understanding of light and form, and represents his unique personal vision, a press release said. Vintage black and white prints also are on display, along with photos that Holm has found, restored and hand-colored.

• Oregon Coast School of Music: 2055 Union Ave., will present three student concerts in conjunction with the North Bend Downtown Extravaganza. The concerts will start at 4:15, 5:30, and 7 p.m. Also, C.Z. Andersen will exhibit “wearable art” — jewelry created from semi-precious stones including turquoise, jade, tiger-eye and carnelian. Ammonite and crinoid fossils also are incorporated in CZ’s work. Oregon Coast Piano Services, adjacent to the School of Music will feature oil paintings by Keith Russett and watercolors and photographs by Carol Young.

• Pneuma Studios: 1944 Sherman Ave., is closing and will not be open for Artwalk.

• Sozo Tea and Coffee: 1955 Union Ave., will feature new art. Participants can receive a free 8-ounce latte during Artwalk.

• We Sell It For You: 1987 Sherman Ave., new to Artwalk, the E-bay trading assistants store will feature a selection of art paintings by Patricia Hendrickson and various other artists including Don McMichaels. Refreshments will be served.

Pony Village Mall

 • The Artist Loft Gallery: east wing, will present Barbara Mahon as their featured artist with “A Watercolor Retrospective.” Also featured will be “Christmas Extravaganza,” a group show by gallery artists. Refreshments will be provided by the gallery.

• East Wing Art Wall: at the east wing entrance, is showing works by Horst Wolf of Brookings, with a collection of his watercolors and a colorful, humorous alien collection of paintings and books.

• Heritage Textile Arts Guild: suite 131, is a working studio featuring the most unusual, unique handcrafted fiber art items to be seen, according to a press release. Headles & Treadles will feature hand-woven yarns, and visitors can join the ‘knit-in.’ Guild members will give assistance in beginning a scarf or hat, or visitors can provide companionship while they knit. Refreshments will be served.

• The Rose Palette Art Studio & Gallery: suite 128, has completed remodeling and will feature art including new jewelry by Linda Morris and Charlie; and Paula Dow’s glass pieces; Sue Scott and Robert Cilantro’s pottery; art by Priscilla, a wall for student art; “Dragon’s & Fairies” painted by Vicky Wyatt in oils; and Bill Melton’s new cougar painting. He also teaches pen-and-ink techniques. In addition, Priscilla’s poetry book for children, original note cards, and metal art have a new twist, according to a press release.
