Bandon musical follows family on holiday
Bandon Playhouse brings the Christmas musical-comedy, “Bethlehem Road” to the stage for this weekend's final performances at the Sprague Community Theater.
Written by Bandon playwright Neal Davis “Bethlehem Road” transports a bickering modern-day family back to the first Christmas. Separated from their children, the parents join three musical wise men, also in search of a child. Meanwhile, a helpful shepherd boy joins their kids in their quest to reunite. The score blends original songs, including “We’ve made a mess of Christmas” and “The Ten Commandments,” with such classics as “We Three Kings” and “What Child Is This.”
The Saturday show is at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each; on the Sunday matinee show, children younger than 13 can get in free with a canned food donation to benefit the local food bank.
Tickets are available at Winter River Books, Bandon Mercantile, Bandon True Value Hardware and The Sprague Theater box office. For more information, those interested can call 347-7426. |
