The 15th-annual Little Ole Opry Country Christmas show runs this weekend at Little Theatre on the Bay in North Bend.
Though the Saturday and Sunday shows were sold out, tickets were still available for all tonight’s opener, according to LTOB manager Don Williston.
First-time director Shirley Kintner said she feels like the show has a life of its own after 14 years.
“There’s your regulars, and there’s a lot of new, young talent coming up,” Kintner said. “A lot of them are in high school and they’re really, really good.”
The lineup includes current Bay Area Teen Idol Clint Guevara, past winner Sara Martin and past finalists Micah Langley and Alyssa Birrer, as well as Abby Collings, a local finalist in the ColgateCountry Showdown, and Kelley Coolen.
Also among the younger performers are several children of Opry regulars who have become Opry regulars themselves, including Kintner’s 16-year-old daughter Hannah, who made her Opry debut at age 3. Also in that group are Martin, Austin Thompson and Raegan Spence, who share the stage with their mothers, Angie Martin, Tara Thompson and Deana Spence.
Other Opry singers are Tom Barnett, the Young Bucs, emceePam de Jong, Dan Keller, Leatha Lewison-Gonzalez, Janet Lunstroth, assistant director Josie Reid, Catherine Rowe, Ray Silvia, Roger Sims and Jon Thomas.
They will be joined on stage by dancers Kayla Fletcher, Haley Latta, Amanda Osborn, Noel Caffey, Kaja Gresko and Ty Whitley; the Opry band, Dave Ford, Doug Jones, David Andrist, Bill Berrian, Dwain Rayburn and Greg Griffith; and comedy team members Jill Hanson, JeffCragun, Marty Crouse, Ron Koopman, Deb McDonald, Carla Mobley, Nancy Nix, Alan Spjut, Joe Stoffel, Mary Beth Woods, Howard Swick and Elizabeth Hewitt.
