Several treated for carbon monoxide poisoning

OCEAN SHORES, Wash. (AP) — The Ocean Shores police chief says 19 people — 18 adults and one child — have been taken to a hospital for treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning after becoming sick at an IGA grocery store in the Washington coast town.
Chief Russ Fitts says the people apparently were sickened Wednesday by fumes from a generator that was being used in the store because the electricity was out due to the recent storm.
He says the adults are store employees and one of them is the parent of the child.
Fitts says all 19 people are reported in fair condition at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in nearby Aberdeen and are expected to be fine.
