Coos Art Museum holds membership drive

Saturday, November 24, 2007 |
The Coos Art Museum is beginning its annual membership drive for the 2008 season. Since 1950, the Coos Art Museum has been a vital part of the state’s cultural landscape. It helps shine a light on Oregon’s Bay Area and is a significant partner in making the area attractive to new visitors, business and economic growth.
The museum has recently undertaken several important projects to enhance our service to the community. We are undergoing a major remodeling of the Mable Hansen Gallery to make it a more modern space for mounting quality exhibits. We intend to make its upper floor an inviting destination for museum visitors.
A series of exhibitions are planned for the coming year, including the 15th-annual Maritime Exhibition, Expressions West, Visions and the Biennial Student Art Exhibit. Members receive invitations to all exhibition openings.
Also scheduled is the Plein Air/Wet Paint art auction and seafood barbecue for the opening of the Maritime Exhibit.
Each season we present a wide variety of classes and education programs. Members receive free admission to exhibitions and discount to museum events and art education classes.
Information about membership and membership forms are available at
