Officials to mull LNG terminal application
Tuesday, November 6, 2007 1:03 PM PST

The Coos County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a hearing to consider a land use application for a liquefied natural gas terminal on the North Spit.

The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the commissioners’ courtroom at the Coos County Courthouse in Coquille.

The county’s hearings officer submitted a recommendation last week to approve the application submitted by Jordan Cove Energy Project. Additional public comments will not be accepted at the meeting.

The application being considered Wednesday only requests permission to build an LNG terminal. A second application concerning a proposed marine terminal is currently being examined by the hearings officer.
