MANZANITA (AP) - A pleasure boat has gone down off the Oregon coast near Manzanita, leaving a 66-year-old man dead.

The Coast Guard says a 48-year-old man survived after the 18-foot boat sank south of the Nehalem Bay south jetty late Thursday.

According to a Coast Guard news release, the agency was notified of the capsizing and dispatched two motor lifeboats from Tillamook, as well as an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Astoria.

The two men were found on shore with local emergency medical technicians conducting cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the older man. He was pronounced dead after being taken by helicopter to a hospital in Tillamook.

The younger man was not injured. Neither was wearing a life jacket.
