South Coast readers often have different preferences in reading material than those in other parts of the state and United States. Here are the top-five sellers this week at Winter River Books in Bandon, according to owner Johnna Hickox:
“Unwanted Inheritance” by Dr. Robert Bolin is the local retired oncologist’s first novel and tells of a family coming to grips with breast cancer.
“Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert is a fascinating and oftentimes humorous account of the author’s quest for mental peace and happiness.
“Water for Elephants” by Sara Gruen continues to charm readers with her tale of a young veterinarian and his adventures with an early 20th-century circus.
“Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards tells the tragic results of a father’s fateful decision.
“Life in the Time of Cholera” by Gabriel Marquez is the latest Oprah pick and winner of the 1982 Nobel Prize for literature. |
