“Water for Elephants” by Sara Gruen continues to charm readers with her tale of a young veterinarian and his adventures with an early 20th-century circus.

“Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards tells the tragic results of a father’s fateful decision.

“Life in the Time of Cholera” by Gabriel Marquez is the latest Oprah pick and winner of the 1982 Nobel Prize for literature.
