The Coos Bay Library will host the “Halloween Magic Show!” at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Myrtlewood Room at the library. The event is sponsored by The Friends of the Coos Bay Library.
Bill Mitchell and his sidekick, Gus the stunt chicken, will arrive from Bend for this entertaining program of magic, spooky fun and excitement. Spiders, snakes, rats, wolves, ghosts and fun all go together to make this an enjoyable program for all ages.
There will be treats, a craft activity and a Halloween costume contest, where the person with the best costume will receive a free magic kit. This 45-minute program is free to everyone of all ages.

CB Nursing home ready for costumed visitors
Life Care Center of Coos Bay will be handing out treats on Halloween, Oct. 31. There also will be Safety Tip Halloween Bags for the first 50 trick-or-treaters.
Staff and residents will be greeting children from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the facility at 2890 Ocean Blvd. For more information, those interested can phone 297-7082 and ask for Ann.
Coquille Eagles sponsor haunted house
These Eagles say BOO.
The Coquille Eagles Lodge is sponsoring a children’s Halloween party and haunted house.
The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31, at the Eagles Lodge, 581 Alder St. The party is for children younger than 13 and will include games, contests, prizes and goodies.
NB church hosts family fun night
The Bay Area Church of the Nazarene and Kingsview Christian School at 1850 Clark St. in North Bend, will sponsor a Halloween Alternative Family Fun Night from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
There will be lots of different activities including face painting, a cake walk, fishing for prizes, pony rides, and much more. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served free of charge.
