ONTARIO (AP) - Officials in this Eastern Oregon city hope an extra 700 feet of asphalt will help them land some new companies.
Crews this week were pouring asphalt to stretch the Ontario Municipal Airport runway to 5,000 feet. The longer runway will accommodate 95 percent of the corporate jets now in use, said Alan Daniels, the airport manager.
Daniels said one of the first things companies consider when looking at a community is whether the airport can handle their corporate jet. |
