The Coos County Commission on Children and Families is surveying the community about local resources and needs in preparation for developing the 2007 Community Comprehensive Plan.

The survey asks community members to identify both the strengths of the local service community as well as the gaps in service. A second portion of the survey will ask for recommendations and solutions to barriers in seeking those services.

The information from the survey will be compiled by commission staff and presented to the county commission at its October meeting. After a review of the information the local commission will select up to 20 key issues to include as priorities in the Comprehensive Plan.

Local citizens can participate in the survey by going to the county Web site at http://www.co.coos.or.us/ccf/ or by calling the commission office at 396-3121, ext. 392 to obtain a copy.

Completed surveys should be returned to the commission office by Oct. 19.
