South Coast Hospice is inviting supporters in the community to a Monte Carlo Night Fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the North Bend Community Center.

Proceeds raised at the event will held fund the South Coast Hospice Building Expansion project. The need for hospice services and support in the area continues to grow. The organization believes it is important to increase the size of its “Care Team,” a press release said.

The building would provide additional office space and a room for patients and families who wish to meet with hospice team members in private. The room will provide “a comforting, homelike atmosphere in which patients can families can, in confidentiality, share their stories and find they help they are seeking,” a press release said. In addition, the building would provide more room for nurses and social workers.

Activities for Monte Carlo Night include Texas Hold’em, Black Jack, roulette and craps. Advance tickets cost $40 and include $50 in play money for the Monte Carlo style games. There also will be appetizers from Bay Area restaurants, and opportunities to win prizes and participate in an auction. Participating restaurants include Benetti’s Italian Restaurant, Ric’s Posto Bella and the Hilltop House. The grand prize will be a 51-inch Hitachi high definition projection TV from the North Bend Sears store.

Tickets are on sale at the Hospice Thrift Store, 1955 Meade Ave., in North Bend, or at the South Coast Hospice and Palliative Care Services offices.
