The Southwestern Oregon Community College women’s soccer team completed a perfect homestand by beating visiting Bellevue 2-0 on Thursday.
Just before halftime, Parker Sublette had a corner kick that Rebecca Fanter spotted to Natasha Sawall for a goal.
In the second half, Alicia Stormberg, the team’s central defender, put a free kick in the back of the net.
“We really limited their opportunities,” said Southwestern coach Shaun Kohn. “We possessed the ball for the majority of the day. It was a good way to end this three-game little sweep here with the win.”
The Lakers, who improved to 3-3-0 on the season, were playing their fifth match in seventh days.
“We’re looking for a day off tomorrow,” Kohn said.
Kate Tuers had her third straight shutout for the Lakers.
