September ArtWalk!
Sept. 13: Coos Head Food Store will feature locally grown produce this month at ArtWalk! from 5 to 8 p.m. ArtWalk! participants will be invited to sample appetizers through desserts as well as “in the raw” fresh fruits and vegetables from several local growers.
The wine tasting table will feature Stellar Wine from South Africa. This organic, no sulfur added wine will have a special price in September and there are varietals to please every palate.

Reedsport Rib Cook-off
Sept. 15: The battle for rib supremecy is back on. The Tides Inn will host this year’s event from noon to 7 p.m. Chefs from area restaurants and service groups will again be barbecuing for charity.
Meals are $10 per person, meals for kids 10 and younger are $6. Meals include baked beans, corn on the cob, potato and macaroni salads and bread.
The event will benefit the Reedsport Senior Center, The Food Pantry and other area charities.
The Tides Inn is located at 346 N. 4th Street, Reedsport. The local Eagles and Moose lodges are already scheduled to participate again this year.
Old Bridge Winery barbecue
Sept. 22: Old Bridge Winery will hold its annual barbecue on Sept. 22 from noon to 5 p.m .
The barbecue this year is being prepared by The Black Market Gourmet.
There will be also be a chocolate fountain, desserts, free wine tasting and live music.
Old Bridge Winery is located at 50706 Sandy Creek Road, in Remote, right off State Highway 42 at the old covered bridge.Tickets for the event are $20. For more information or tickets, those interested can call 582-2314 or 572-0272.
Chowder, Blues & Brews!
Sept. 21-23: The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 12th-annual Fall Festival with award-winning chowder offered from all along the Oregon coast, the finest blues music Oregon has to offer and microbrews from some of the best breweries in the Northwest.
Saturday will highlight the seventh year of the Oregon Coast Professional Chowder Cookoff where festivalgoers will have a chance to taste the best chowder the Oregon Coast has to offer from Astoria to Brookings.
