Don't forget immunizations
Friday, August 31, 2007 2:46 PM PDT
Students are required to have up-to-date immunizations before starting school or daycare.
Depending on the child’s age, the following shots are required: four to five doses of Diptheria/Tetanus vaccine, three to four doses the Polio vaccine, two to three doses of Hepititis B vaccine, one dose of Varicella vaccine if the child has not had chicken pox, two doses of Measles vaccine, one dose of the Mumps vaccine, one dose of the Rubella vaccine, and one to four doses of Haemophilus influenza type B vaccine.
“Shots for Tots” vouchers to pay for part of the administration fees are available at the Coos County Public Health Department, 1975 McPherson, No. 1, in North Bend, for children birth to 4 years old. The vouchers are for children with no insurance or insurance that does not cover immunization costs.
The “Shots for Tots” program has been a community service project of the Bay Area Rotary Club since 2002.
