Teachers at work; school openings vary
Coos Bay schools
The first day of school is Tuesday for students at Blossom Gulch, Bunker Hill and Madison elementary schools and Millicoma and Sunset intermediate schools. The schools will serve lunch and all buses will make their routes.
For Marshfield High School students, freshman orientation will be on Tuesday. Lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided by the school and all the buses will be running. Wednesday is the first day of school sophomores, juniors and seniors. Breakfast and lunch will be served and the buses will be making their routes.
Bandon schools
Tuesday also is the first day of school for Bandon High School, Ocean Crest and Harbor Lights. Lunches will be served and buses will be running for all students.
Coquille schools ready for classes
On Tuesday, the first day of school in Coquille, breakfast and lunch will be served and the buses will be running their full schedule.
Myrtle Point staggers opening days
For students attending Mryrtle Crest and those in the seventh grade, the first day of school is Tuesday, but the junior/senior high school’s (grades 8 through 12) first day is Wednesday. Kindergarteners will start school on Sept. 10. Lunches will be served and the buses will be running.
North Bend schools vary start days
For students in grades K through nine, school will start Wednesday. Students grades 10 through 12 will begin on Thursday. Buses will run their full routes and lunch will be served starting Wednesday.
School already started on Wednesday at the Lighthouse School. Beginning next Wednesday, hot lunch and regular bus schedules will begin.
Powers
Students in Powers start school on Tuesday. For the first week of school, no lunches will be served.
Buses ready to roll in Reedsport
Highland Elementary and the Reedsport Junior/Senior High School students will start school Tuesday. Buses will run their full schedule and breakfast and lunch will be served.
Gold Beach
The first day of school for Riley Creek, Agness and Gold Beach High School is Tuesday. Lunches will be served and the full bus schedule will be in place. |
