The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a volunteer to represent Class I (Quads) and Class II (4x4) users on the All-terrain Vehicle Account Allocation Committee.

The committee is a seven-member advisory board appointed to advise State Parks on ATV program grant dispersals. Members serve four-year terms, normally attending three public meetings per year and participating in occasional workshops and tours.

ATV grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations and other governmental agencies to help develop, maintain and acquire all-terrain vehicle recreation areas. Financed by ATV permit sales and fuel tax revenue attributed to off-highway vehicle use, the grants also provide education and safety training for ATV operators, help fund first aid services and support police services in designated ATV recreation sites.

Applicants can contact Ron Price at (503) 986-0706 for details or to obtain application forms. OPRD will accept completed applications until 5 p.m. Wednesday.
