According to the Oregon State Police, a Eugene-area woman who was involved in a two-vehicle traffic crash Tuesday on U.S. Highway 101 about 2 miles north of Yachats has died of her injuries.

Pamela Green Kyker, 60, died at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital in Portland Tuesday night, police said.

According to an Oregon State Police press release, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, a 2007 Toyota RAV4 sport utility vehicle driven by Beth Ann Drummond, 30, of Seattle, was northbound on the highway near milepost 161. When she attempted to turn left into the entrance of Tillicum Campground, the Toyota crashed into the front of Kyker's 2005 Ford Focus.

Kyker, who was using safety restraints, was critically injured in the crash. She was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport and then LifeFlighted to Oregon Health Sciences University.

OSP indicated Drummond and her passenger, Moshe Zohar, 27, also of Seattle, were using safety restraints and received minor injuries. Both were transported to Samaritan Pacific, where they were treated and released.

OSP troopers from the Newport Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Yachats-area emergency personnel and crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation. The highway was closed for a short period of time during the evening.
