Shelter, support and solace.

For more than 25 years, the Women’s Safety and Resource Center in Coos Bay has provided a refuge from the storm of domestic violence for hundreds of women, children and men in Coos County.
But as the demand for shelter, counseling and assistance grows throughout the region, the center is facing a growing financial crisis.
According to Executive Director Judy Moody, the center is facing a serious budget crunch due to high overhead costs.
While specific programs and projects at the organization will be funded by a variety of grants, the day to day costs of electricity, rent, paying for a qualified staff and other basic needs are rarely covered by any type of financial assistance and must come directly from donations.
