Local doctor to speak in D.C.

Dr. Charles G. Hurbis of Coos Bay, will be the featured speaker at the 53rd-annual meeting of the American Rhinologic Society, in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Hurbis will present his continued research on an implant he designed for treating nasal valve dysfunction, which is produced by a joint effort with Hanson Medical of Kingston, Wash.
Hurbis also will make presentations at the 34th Symposium of Plastic Surgery in Guadalajara, Mexico, as well as at the Oregon Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery combined fall convention in Portland, in November.
Hurbis has practiced in the Bay Area since 1991 with his practice located at 2695 N. 17 St., in Coos Bay.
