A child was injured after he was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday in the 800 block of Jacobson Way in the Hauser area.

According to the Coos County Sheriff's Office press log, at about 6:45 p.m., a Ford pickup truck was traveling along Jacobson Way and struck a 4-year-old child riding a bicycle. The child received minor injuries in the crash, but stood up and walked to a nearby house after the incident, police said.

The driver of the pickup, William Donard, 55, was not cited.

The child was taken to Bay Area Hospital for evaluation by a family member in a private vehicle. The name of the child was not released by the Sheriff's Office.
