The following are theft and criminal mischief reports from area police department logs.

Coos Bay

€ Aug. 2, an assault was reported in the 300 block of Seventh Avenue.

€ Aug. 2, mail theft was reported in the 300 block of Ackerman Street.

€ Aug. 2, a vehicle was broken into and items were taken in the 800 block of Fenwick Street.

€ Aug. 2, a vehicle was keyed in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 2051 Newmark Ave.

€ Aug. 2, a car was vandalized in the 400 block of West Elrod Avenue.

€ Aug. 2, a fight was reported in the 900 block of South Empire Boulevard.

€ Aug. 2, a burglary was reported in the 2300 block of Driftwood Lane.

€ Aug. 3, a boy was reportedly knocking on a door and then running away in the 1100 block of Oregon Avenue.

Coos County

€ Aug. 1, criminal trespassing was reported on Goss Lane.

€ Aug. 1, telephone harassment was reported in the 90000 block of Beaver Creek Lane.

€ Aug. 1, criminal mischief was reported in the 90000 block of Cape Arago Highway.

I agree. Most campgrounds have spaces so close together, you feel like you're in each others' party. This, coupled with the "it's all about me" generation, will continue to happen with more frequency.

I believe this is going to be happening more and more as people are forced to camp in crowded and noisy campgrounds as dictated by the county, state and federal governments. People came to "get away from it all", not to be packed into a small acreage, one next to another.
