COQUILLE (AP) - A jury convicted the former sheriff of Curry County of sexually abusing three county workers.
Mark Metcalf was convicted of 11 counts of sexual abuse, harassment and official misconduct. The sex abuse charge involves subjecting another to unwanted sexual contact.
The trial was moved to Coos County, where a jury Thursday found Metcalf guilty. Court documents said the harassment occurred four times between February 2005 and March 2006.
Voters in a June recall election ousted Metcalf. He had been on administrative leave since the indictments were handed up.
Sentencing was scheduled for Aug. 14. The charges are misdemeanors, and prosecutors said they would seek jail time.
