Assault is charged
A Coos Bay man was arrested Thursday on an assault charge. According to the Coos Bay Police log, at about 4:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a women being assaulted at the corner of Johnson Avenue and South First Street. Officers arrested Joseph Boyd, 43, on a charge of fourth-degree assault. He was taken to Coos County jail, where he is being held on an $82,500 bail.
