Pat, left, and Jerry McGriff are the new owners of Griff's on the Dock in Port Orford, shown here in front of their business on April 5. The couple used to own Griff's on the Bay in Winchester Bay, but decided to retire when someone offered to buy it. Pat McGriff said retirement from the seafood business was nice, but “we decided to get back into it.” The McGriffs said they, with help from the Port of Port Orford, are adding on a dining room to better serve diners who stop by to enjoy fresh-caught seafood lunches and dinners, such as the rockfish Jerry McGriff holds. Pat said they recently put in a full line of seafood in the seafood case in the store and buy most of it from local fishermen. Griffs on the Dock will continue to carry some commercial and recreational tackle, gifts and other items at the store and small museum of local fishing history. Pat said the Griff's on the Dock is open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
