Oregon State University researchers say home gardens produce the best yields when planted with vegetable varieties adapted to local growing conditions.
They've done the research on farms around the state to try to help Oregonians grow their own successfully. Here is a partial list of common recommendations.
On the coast, it's wise to remember that the growing season might be long at 190 to 250 days, but it's cool, too.
