North Bend graduate Kim Jasmer became a two-time All-American at the NCAA swimming championships on Saturday.
The sophomore finished 14th in the 1,650-yard freestyle, her final event at the NCAA championships. Jasmer was timed in 16 minutes, 17.08 seconds in the event. Her time was just over two seconds higher than her previous best, set at the Pac-10 championships, where she finished second. Four conference rivals finished better than her in the final at the NCAA championships on Saturday.
Jasmer's best finish in the NCAA meet was 11th in the 500 freestyle.
She failed to place in the top 16 - the scoring positions - in the 200 freestyle, finishing 29th in the preliminaries in 1:48.15, just over a second behind the final swimmer to qualify for the finals.
Jasmer, the only Washington swimmer in the meet, scored nine points, giving the Huskies 35th place. She was the first Washington Swimmer to be a two-time All-American since 2003.
