Thurston's Erica Omlid shot an impressive 78 to win the Marshfield Invitational at Pacific Dunes on Monday.

Omlid finished the back nine in just 35 strokes to take medalist honors by nine strokes over North Medford's Sunshine Powers.

North Medford won the team title with 285 strokes. Thurston was second at 294.

Marshfield, which won the Midwestern League title in 2006, but is in a rebuilding year, tied for sixth place with Sutherlin, each posting scores of 343. Reedsport (369) was eighth.

Kylie Ray, the top returner for Sutherlin, shot a 94 to take fourth place individually. Marshfield was led by Stephanie Stalcup (105) and Teka Steward (107).

Abby Wicks, who also had a 105, led Reedsport.

Because each team was limited to four golfers, only the top three scorers were used to calculate the team totals.
